The store builder that reads your Instagram
An Instagram store builder turns the account you already run into a shop with its own address, a cart and a checkout. Chanis reads your posts, turns the ones you sell into editable products, and takes its branding from your own photos. You review everything before it goes live. Free for up to 6 products; no percentage of any sale, on any plan.

What an "Instagram store builder" actually is
Four different products get called this, and they do not do the same job. It is worth 30 seconds to work out which one you are looking for, because the wrong one wastes a weekend.
- Feed widgets embed your Instagram grid onto a website you already have. They display posts. They do not take an order. Most of the "Instagram" apps in the Shopify App Store are this.
- Link-in-bio pages give you one page of buttons. They route a click. The order still happens somewhere else — usually in your DMs.
- Full ecommerce platforms give you everything, and assume you arrive with a product catalogue, photography and a plan. The setup is the product.
- Instagram store builders — this category — start from the account. Your posts are the catalogue. That is the only one of the four where the thing you already have is the input.
If you have been selling by replying to "how much?" in your DMs for a year, you already have the input. You have written the descriptions, taken the photos and answered the questions. It is just not in a form anyone can buy from at 11pm.
How it works
Four mechanisms, stated plainly, because "AI-powered" tells you nothing about what actually happens to your account.
- Your feed becomes the catalogue. We read your posts and turn the ones that look like products into draft products — photo, title, description. Where a caption states a price, we use it. Where only the photo states one, we read the photo and hold that price as a draft for you to confirm rather than publishing a number we guessed.
- Your branding comes from your own photos. Colours and type are derived from the images you already post, so the shop looks like the account it came from instead of like a template with your logo dropped in.
- A real cart and a real checkout. Not a contact form. A buyer picks a size and a colour, adds two things, sees a total, enters an address, and you get an order that is complete the first time.
- Mobile first, because your buyers are. They are coming from a phone, one tap out of a story.
Nothing is published until you say so. The import produces drafts.
What you get, precisely
- Your own address at
yourname.chanis.app, or your own domain on Pro. - Up to 6 live products on Free. Unlimited on Pro.
- Product variants — size × colour, priced individually or inheriting the base price.
- A checkout you configure: turn the built-in fields on or off, mark them required, reorder them, and add your own questions.
- Cash on delivery and your own offline payment method (bank transfer, a wallet QR you upload) as first-class options, because that is how most of our sellers are paid.
- Card payments through your own Stripe account if you connect one. The money settles to you; it never passes through us.
- An order email to you and a receipt to your customer, the moment an order lands.
- A shareable link and a QR code for your bio, your stories and your packaging.
What it costs
Free is a real plan, not a trial. Six live products, one storefront, no card required, no expiry.
Pro is $25 a month: unlimited products, more than one storefront, your own domain, and the Chanis badge removed from your footer.
Neither plan takes a percentage of a sale. There is no per-order fee and no marketplace commission — the subscription is the entire business model, which is also why we would rather tell you below who should not pay it.
What the alternatives do better
We make a competing product, so here is where the honest answer is not us.
- Shopify is better the moment you need real inventory across channels, a point of sale, wholesale pricing, subscriptions, complicated tax and shipping rules, or an app for something specific. Its app ecosystem is the actual product and nothing here comes close. If three of those apply to you, buy Shopify.
- Link-in-bio tools are faster, free, and better if what you are monetising is attention rather than objects. If you are sending people to a YouTube channel, a Patreon and a newsletter, you want a link page, not a shop.
- Marketplaces — Shopee, Lazada, TikTok Shop, Etsy — bring you traffic. We bring you none. That is a real difference and it is the main reason to use both. A marketplace takes a cut because it is doing something for that cut.
- Instagram's own tools, where your business is eligible for them, are free and are where the buyer already is. Tagging still works. Use it, and point it here.
Who this is not for
- Anyone with more than about a hundred SKUs, or stock in more than one place.
- Sellers who need stock levels to count down on their own — we do not track inventory.
- Anyone already running a Shopify or WooCommerce store they are happy with. There is no importer, so moving is manual.
- Businesses that need an admin in a language other than English.
- Anyone who wants in-app Instagram checkout back. Nobody can sell you that.
What we don't do
- No inventory or stock tracking.
- No product or customer export yet.
- No point of sale, no wholesale, no dropshipping catalogue.
- No Shopify or WooCommerce importer.
- No local wallet gateways (GCash, Maya, DuitNow, FPX, PayNow, PromptPay, Tabby). You can state those terms and upload a payment QR; we do not process them.
- The Instagram import runs when you ask for it, not on a schedule.
- The seller admin is English only.
Questions people actually ask
- Is there a free Instagram store builder?
- Yes — this one, for up to 6 live products, with no card and no time limit. Instagram’s own shopping features are also free where your business is eligible for them.
- Do I need a Facebook catalogue?
- No. A catalogue is what Instagram needs to tag products inside its own app. It has nothing to do with having a shop of your own, and you can have one without the other.
- Do you take a cut of my sales?
- No — not a percentage, not a per-order fee. When a customer pays by card it goes to your own Stripe account; when they pay cash on delivery or by transfer, we are not in the transaction at all.
- Does it work outside the US?
- Yes. Nothing here depends on Instagram Shop being available where you are, which is the whole point — in-app checkout was only ever offered to merchants in the US and Meta wound it down for them over June to August 2025.
- Can I use my own domain?
- On Pro, yes. On Free your shop lives at yourname.chanis.app, which is a real address you can put in your bio.
- What happens to my Instagram captions?
- They become the first draft of your product descriptions, and you edit them. Your Instagram account itself is untouched — we read it, we never post to it.
- Can I sell food from Instagram?
- The shop side works well for it — pre-orders, pickup windows, cut-off times. Whether you may sell food where you live is a licensing question and we are not the right source for it; check your local food-business authority.
- What if I already have a website?
- Then you may not need this. If the site works and takes orders, keep it. This is for the seller whose "website" is currently a DM thread.
